{"id":24,"date":"2012-11-20T11:16:26","date_gmt":"2012-11-20T10:16:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/iea.rs\/?page_id=24"},"modified":"2018-06-28T10:29:21","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T08:29:21","slug":"o-nama","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/iea.rs\/en\/o-nama\/","title":{"rendered":"About us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Institute for European Affairs (former Youth Education Committee) is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan organisation founded in 2010 by a group of young professionals, like-minded people with an idea and a vision of Serbia as a full, active and equal member of the Euro-Athlantic family.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Institute&#8217;s work is based on empowerment and promotion of European values such as human dignity, human rights and minority rights, freedom, democracy and the rule of law, peace, prosperity and the fight against social exclusion and discrimination.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Institute strongly supports Serbia&#8217;s membership in the European Union. Promotes ideas and values on which the EU is based and raise awareness about the importance of the membership for the stability of Serbia and the Region. Since foundation, the Institute has implemented dozens of programs for professionals from Serbia, Western Balkans and EU countries.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Institute is focusing on monitoring the negotiations on Serbia<span lang=\"en-US\">\u2019s<\/span> accession wto the EU. Given the complexity and long duration of this process, the Institute brings together a large number of experts. We want to contribute to a better understanding of integration process. The Institute tend to provide multi-perspective information on the integration to enable citizens to make informed decisions and to better understand the complexity of the EU membership.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Institute advocates for speeding up the process of Serbia&#8217;s integration into the EU and at the same time is contributing to general debate on the EU and NATO membership. In cooperation with state institutions we are working on strengthening Serbia&#8217;s capacity to face the challenges of the global world through collective action. The overall objective is Serbia<span lang=\"en-US\">\u2019s full <\/span>active membership to EU and NATO for the better of all citizens.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Accordingly, the Institute organises training for civil servants, NGOs and entrepreneurs and encourages public debate on Euro-Atlantic integration. We believe it is important that every member of society should take responsibility for their actions, and therefore we constantly remind politicians to their promises, and we ask for their accountability.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">We have not forgot the past. We believe cooperation in the region will reach its maximum when all countries of the Region join EU. The communication should be improved through efficient talks between disputed countries, without populism and nationalism.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Finally, we promote cooperation between state institutions, CSO<span lang=\"en-US\">\u2019s<\/span> and experts with the aim to exchange best practices and to identify possible weaknesses in the system and to facilitate the path towards the EU and NATO.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">The Institute is a member of the National Convention for the chapters25 i 26, 30, 31 and 35, a member of KOMS and certified by NAPOR.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Institute for European Affairs (former Youth Education Committee) is an independent, non-governmental, non-partisan organisation founded in 2010 by a group of young professionals, like-minded people &hellip;
