The Peer to Peer education activity was held in Grammar School \u201cIvan Merz\u201d, in Banja Luka, which is one of the most respectable and appreciated high school institutions in the region. During the meeting with the school pedagogue, Mrs. Sanja Hajder, we came to an agreement about most suitable generation to listen to lecture, and it was 3rd class within Democracy course. As a former student of chosen school, I was familiar with the most of the participants and therefore lecture went in casual atmosphere even though some of the students didn\u2019t want to leave contact information.<\/p>\n
During the activities, I have had help from my colleague, Nikola Mla\u0111enovi\u0107 who acted as a support. At the very beginning of the lecture, I have introduced participants with Education Youth Committee, their mission and goal, as well as purpose of current workshops. The first activity was brief overview of history of human rights, institutions in charge of protection, violation of human rights with accent on stereotypes and prejudices, where participants showed lack of knowledge. Afterward, I\u2019ve organized interactive activity where four participants actively discuss problems from the region, while others listen. When someone has something to say, he comes to the discussion floor and replaces one of the participants. During that particular activity, we have discussed situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, results of preceding conflicts, today\u2019s challenges when it comes to human rights.<\/p>\n
As the finishing activity, we have discussed how the young people can contribute to regional reconciliation, as well as importance of reconciliation. Generally, education went well, even though many students showed lack of awareness and knowledge about current issues, which I find as flaw in educational system. Thereby, I find my activity rather successful and I\u2019d like to point out need for working on further education of peers.<\/p>\n
