Institute for European Affairs is focusing on negotiations between Serbia and the EU as well as on strengthening the capacity of all sides involved in the process. Given the complexity and long duration of the process, the Institute brings together a large number of professionals and external experts with whom organises trainings, debates and other forms of capacity development. We want to contribute to enhanced understanding of Serbia-EU relations. The Institute provides multi-perspective trainings in order to enable active participation of professionals and citizens in the decision-making processes. The Institute actively advocates for fundamental reforms within the EU integration process and in cooperation with partners working on strengthening Serbia's capacity to face the challenges of the global world through collective action. The overall objective is active membership of Serbia in Euro-Atlantic framework for the benefit of all citizens.

Dialog and Cooperation as a tool for Reconcilation

Having in consideration the history and homogenizm of the Ballkans…, also bearing in mind ethnic and cultural conflicts and tragedies that happened in the former territory of Jugoslavia during the end of the twentieth century as a consequence of absence of dialog and cooperation between nationes…., it’s the time to reflect today in this direction, not later!

Also, we know that a lot of wars in all over the World started because of the absence of dialog, cooperation and compromise between nationes…., however finaly almost are obliged to turn back to the table and settle their disputies through dialog.

Through dialog we can reach compromise…, meanwhile through compromise and cooperation we can reach permanent reconciliation!

So, we the youth of this fragile region should take the couarage and braveness to start changing of this mentality in our societies which consist in hateness and predjucies for each other.

During the different historical periods, students and youth in generaly have been the promotor of the political, economical and social changings…, they have defeated dictatorship and monarchy in their countries seeking to gain fredoom, democracy and equality.

These things should motivate as ‘the youth of western Ballkans’ to proclame dialog and cooperation in our communities as tool for reconciliation.

In my opinion the the best way to reach this is proclaiming dialog, wellunderstanding and cooperation between youth and people in generaly through organizating: seminars, trainings, summer and winter schools and other meetings in the region, specialy in Kosova, Serbia, Bosnja and Macedonia.

Throughout these united educational and recreational activities the young generatione are able to get know each other, to exchange their ideas and experiencies in different fields, to make new friendship, etc… and more important is the opportunity of the youth to break ice and predjucies which exist between them.

So, finaly after these activities, we will get to understand that we have more uniq and similar things in common life than we have differencies.

Finaly, there is no time to lose…, we all together including: students, INGO-s, civic societies and medias must implement fornamed instruments and methods in practice…, making it clear to our politicians in Prishtina, Belgrade, Sarajeva, etc.., that we have the will and capcity to change things for better and to challenge political barriers (differencies) just for sake of a safer and more prosperious future of our states and region too as a whole.

Building bridges of communications and cooperationes between youth and civic societies in region, we can give a strong signal to our governments in beginning of a new way of cooperation between them…, which will help as to fulfill a very significant criteria for becoming part of EU and NATO’s integration.., which is the biggest dream of the people in western Ballkans as whole.
