Institute for European Affairs is focusing on negotiations between Serbia and the EU as well as on strengthening the capacity of all sides involved in the process. Given the complexity and long duration of the process, the Institute brings together a large number of professionals and external experts with whom organises trainings, debates and other forms of capacity development. We want to contribute to enhanced understanding of Serbia-EU relations. The Institute provides multi-perspective trainings in order to enable active participation of professionals and citizens in the decision-making processes. The Institute actively advocates for fundamental reforms within the EU integration process and in cooperation with partners working on strengthening Serbia's capacity to face the challenges of the global world through collective action. The overall objective is active membership of Serbia in Euro-Atlantic framework for the benefit of all citizens.

Narrative report

What was the topic of the discussion and how was organised?

Main topic of discussion was from the moment of arrival in Belgrade and all the discussion we had related to situation in region. I started elaboration first that Belgrade is safe city because mostly of our youth are scared to travel. Then all the places that we visited during our study. Topics that were discussed more are: How can we contribute for reconciliation and what are the ideas to help the integration of Kosovo in BE? Will Serbia and Kosovo have normal relations in future even if they will manage to be part of BE?

Explain the reaction of the participants on your speech.

They were listening very carefully every topic that i evaluated and they were very active during the session. They though that this was very good idea especially that was organised in Mitrovica which is the problematic part between Serbs and Albanians.

Have you notice the impact of your lecture on the participants? Explain.

Since from beginning when I started to told them about the project they listened every detail. I’m sure that the topics were very actual so they stayed to the end of the lecture. The participants continued to elaborate more about the case.

What were the questions posed by the participants and how did you react?

I tried to make it more active raising the question by my own and then we started debating. It was very interesting that they mostly agreed on the same topics and I was glad about that.
