Institute for European Affairs is focusing on negotiations between Serbia and the EU as well as on strengthening the capacity of all sides involved in the process. Given the complexity and long duration of the process, the Institute brings together a large number of professionals and external experts with whom organises trainings, debates and other forms of capacity development. We want to contribute to enhanced understanding of Serbia-EU relations. The Institute provides multi-perspective trainings in order to enable active participation of professionals and citizens in the decision-making processes. The Institute actively advocates for fundamental reforms within the EU integration process and in cooperation with partners working on strengthening Serbia's capacity to face the challenges of the global world through collective action. The overall objective is active membership of Serbia in Euro-Atlantic framework for the benefit of all citizens.

Report about peer2peer lecturing

This follow up activity was my last activity realized after a wonderful program about reconciliation in Belgrade. This activity took place in the building of my college which is located in the south Mitrovica, St/Rruga e Kovaceve. I have announced this peer2 peer lecturing unofficially by posting information in the facebook group of the college. Starting from 12:00-13:45, on 10/01/2013.

As I was panning nearly 15 people came and were interested, but unfortunately when they heard the topic which was also related with Serbia some of them immediately lost their interest and started to show negative reactions without even listening the content of topic.

The topic that I tried to elaborate was “My experience in the youth reconciliation ambassadors in Belgrade” all that I tried was to give information and to introduce colleagues with program, lectures, time that we spent together and results of the program, I am quite sure that I achieved to give everything regarding to the program, but because lack of awareness and still some prejudices present in the students, their reaction was not so positive

Peer2peer lecturing turned into discussion among students, when the students started to ask questions and I tried to answer, in a sense I felt that students were attacking me ironically. So I gave mostly opportunities to student’s discussion I saw that there was a lot of disagreements and prejudice toward ethnic groups, as I was planning to invite also some Serbian colleagues from north, at the end I felt so privileged that I didn’t because suddenly this activity could led to a chaos or fight among students.

Hereby this activity was beneficial for me and students at least I made them aware about youth workers and presence of organizations in Serbia which are concerned for reconciliation, I informed them about my other follow up activities such as media appearance and they had opportunity to watch a videos of interviews of other participants from Kosovo, than we watched our amateur videos recorded from us during programs. So by this way I finished this activity.
