Institute for European Affairs is focusing on negotiations between Serbia and the EU as well as on strengthening the capacity of all sides involved in the process. Given the complexity and long duration of the process, the Institute brings together a large number of professionals and external experts with whom organises trainings, debates and other forms of capacity development. We want to contribute to enhanced understanding of Serbia-EU relations. The Institute provides multi-perspective trainings in order to enable active participation of professionals and citizens in the decision-making processes. The Institute actively advocates for fundamental reforms within the EU integration process and in cooperation with partners working on strengthening Serbia's capacity to face the challenges of the global world through collective action. The overall objective is active membership of Serbia in Euro-Atlantic framework for the benefit of all citizens.

International Forum – Yugosphere 2017

Institute for European Affairs in cooperation with the European Youth Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is organizing an international forum, called Yugosphere 2017 at the beginning the August this year – from August 1st to 3rd in Kragujevac, from August 3rd to 5th in Belgrade and from August 6th to 9th in Sarajevo.

Yugosphere 2017 is an international forum that will gather more than 170 participants from all over Europe to discuss key Balkan and European political, economic and social challenges. During the forum, delegates will be divided into 12 working groups (committees) and will be tasked with writing a resolution on the topic they have received. These topics will be related to external and internal politics, conflict prevention, economic issues, peace building, culture, art, etc. In these groups, the task of the youth will be to find a common solution and ideas for the most important political issues that concern them as well. The results of the working groups will be presented as the basis for the discussion at the plenary session at the end of the event in Sarajevo.

Yugosphere 2017 is a part of a global EU-funded project that builds state capacity to prevent conflicts (financially supported by the EU’s Annual Action Program for Instruments that contribute to stability and peace), implemented by the Department for Peace and Development within the Office of the Resident UN Coordinator through UNDP’s Department for Peace and Security.
