What was the topic of the discussion and how was organised?

The topic of discussion was “Reconciliation as an imperative of the future”. After our introduction speech about the program and answering a few questions we saw the movie A Letter that immediately, as far as I could notice, had a lot of impact on the participants. I had a lot of questions prepared because I wasn’t sure in which direction the discoussion would go. As it turns out I didn’t need the questions or any of the backup speech because the participants were very active and we (Boris and I) where there just to direct the discussion and make sure everyone get’s they turn.

Explain the reaction of the participants on your speech.

As part of the discussion I decided to say something about a very popular theme this days in our media. That is about a big metal cross in Sarajevo, that appeared out of nowhere as provocation in the midst of pre-election campaign. I focused on the positive thing that came out of this ugly situation, that is a letter from a Bosnian Serb who actually says “stop with provocations, spreading hatred, leave me and my Bosnian and Croatian neighbours alone, to live in peace”.
Except fruitful discussion that followed the reaction was an applause!

Have you notice the impact of your lecture on the participants? Explain.

The discussion was planned to last for an hour and a half, but it lasted for two and a half hours instead due to the interest of the participants. I think that says enough on how we woke their attention and lead the discussion in the right direction as the questions were just popping out and we had constantly 3-5 hands rased up, wanting to add something.

What were the questions posed by the participants and how did you react?

Participants did not pose a lot of questions to us. They mostly gave some thoughts on the subject that would create a reaction of other participants and that’s how the hole activity looked like.
