My contribution in regional reconciliation
“I do not agree with what you have to say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it.” François-Marie Arouet (Volteri)
Recent wars in the Balkans caused more human suffering, destruction, material damage and hostility between the peoples of the Balkans. Unfortunately, the peace accords that ended the conflict, failed to stabilize the region, which still faces ethnic tensions, bilateral problems and open issues, which are the source of nationalist and expansionist ideas.
Reconciliation will take one or two generations time, but one thing is true whether we wish it would happen.
Common solution for peace and reconciliation between peoples of the region is the renunciation of national populism, as a concept that is taught by certain politicians in the region, with the aim of gaining short-term political interests
Even me who I belong to this first generation, I experienced the war with my possibilities try to play a positive role in this issue.
Ever since I was a teenager, I was in training Interethnic in Gjilan, with various organizations with the aim of reconciliation between the young people and to see the life of the future.
Causes of wars in the Balkans, I think, are thinking, „I’m different from you and do not accept this„.
But no matter what this difference between us, if you are orthodox, i am a Muslim, if you are Serbian, i am Albanian and what ?
This is a miracle from God, that we have different nationalities, different races, different languages, different cultures, different opinions, different…different….. and all in a creature called Man.
From this angle I look oh man…!!!, Sometimes you know to be ever more fierce than animals.
On the way to school, from my village to Gjilan, bus passes through a Serbian village called Budriga, and there stopped totake Serbs passengers that go on the market.
And I tossed in the foot to free the land to those who are elderly, and help them to upload their products on the bus and they are always grateful.
In these moments I am working to create one of my own organization, which aims to inform and orientation of the young in the profession.
From some activities that I am planning to do is also meeting with Serbian youths in the municipality of Gjilan in order to inform their vocations required and profitable in Kosovo.
“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” (Mother Teresa)
